About Zach Smith

A proud native of Naples, Zach was raised by his father, a distinguished 46-year veteran of the Collier County Sheriff’s Office. He attended Collier County Public Schools before culminating in a degree in Elementary Education from FGCU. Zach dedicated a decade to shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher in Collier County before embarking on his entrepreneurial venture in Downtown Bonita Springs in 2021.

While Zach's roots extend across Southwest Florida, it was in Downtown Bonita Springs that he found his true home in 2013. Enamored by the charm and character of Bonita, Zach is deeply committed to fostering its distinctive and growing identity within the broader Southwest Florida community.

Streamline Community Development

A thriving city requires beautiful public spaces. We should prioritize building parks and playgrounds and improving beach and river access. These investments attract investments, enhance quality of life, and cater to the needs of residents, including young families and professionals.

Addressing the longstanding issues with our transportation arteries, such as Livingston and Bonita Beach Road, is imperative. Pedestrian safety has been neglected, and residential roads are now used as thoroughfares. We require a proactive strategy to enhance traffic flow, promote alternative transportation options, and prioritize the safety of pedestrians and cyclists.

Starting a new business is inherently challenging, and Community Development should serve as a supportive partner rather than a significant obstacle. New businesses contribute to job creation, generate tax revenue, and provide valuable resources for the community. It is essential to modernize Community Development practices and ensure accountability to facilitate a smoother process for entrepreneurs and foster economic growth within our community.
